Senior Trip to New York
This year Northfield’s seniors traveled to New York for four days of fun and excitement, making memories with their classmates as they experienced the great things the Big Apple has to offer.
The seniors departed on Saturday the 9th of March and made their way to their hotel in Times Square. Day one included a One World Trade Center Tour and watching the sunset from 104 stories above the New York Skyline.
On day two, the seniors toured the 9/11 museum and ground zero, ate lunch at Brookfield Place, visited the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island, explored Times Square, and experienced Rise NY, a three-in-one immersion adventure including a 4D NYC skyline flight simulation ride, viewing a short documentary about NYC from 1904 to present in a replica of the inaugural City Hall subway, and exploring a museum with seven interactive galleries and artifacts and memorabilia from museums such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Day three entailed a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the morning. The seniors then had the chance to go on various tours, including of the New York Mansions, Grand Central Station, Central Park, the Rockefeller Center, the Intrepid Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Morgan Library. Afterward, groups split up to go to the Museum of Ice Cream, an escape room, an ice skating rink, a ghost tour, or a Broadway performance.
“New York was a such a cool experience, and it was nice that we were able to choose what we wanted to do, so everyone had a unique experience. My two favorite parts from the trip were the MET because being able to see all of the artwork was so cool and ice skating at the Rockefeller Center.” - Madeline Moore
On the fourth and final day, the seniors visited Wall Street, Trinity Church, and Federal Hall before splitting into groups to explore Chinatown or Little Italy, go shopping, visit the Brooklyn Bridge, see Brooklyn’s street art, or learn about Mafia history.
“The senior trip was awesome. It was cool being in the New York environment. We had a great time visiting all the different sights and monuments of New York.” - Caden Maple
A huge thank you is owed to Mrs. Myers and Mr. Sincroft for their organization and planning of the trip. Without their support, Northfield’s senior trip would not have been possible.
