Addison France to Perform with All-State Honors Choir

Each year, the ICDA (Indiana Choral Director’s Association) provides opportunities for high school choir students to audition and participate in the Indiana All-State Honors Choir that sings two major performances for the organization’s convention held in Ft. Wayne each January.

We are very proud to announce that Northfield’s Addison France has auditioned and successfully made it into the All-State Choir. Addison, a junior at Northfield, has sung in the choir since 7th grade. She currently sings in the upper-level ensemble, A Capella Choir.

In the audition, Addison had to prepare a section of music from a medieval song in Latin, and sing it as a solo. She also had to sight-read a small section of music, having never seen the song before. She was judged on tone, vowel spacing, consonants, musicality, and stage presence.

Having successfully passed the audition, she will have four rehearsals with the other All-State Choir students in the Wabash area. The entire All-State Choir will sing on January 14-15 in two performances at the Embassy Theatre in Ft. Wayne. Typically, there are up to 400 other high school students from across the state that participates in the All-State Choir.

Congratulations to Addison as she represents Northfield for the All-State Choir!
