The guardian and the student should plan to attend the enrollment meeting. The student's birth certificate should be brought to the meeting.
During the meeting we will go over all needed paperwork and information, including setting up a meal account and connecting with transportation or the school nurse. We will also give you a tour of the school and be sure to answer all your questions.
Being able to meet in person and learn specifics about the student and their history allows not only for appropriate placement in courses but also an opportunity to better understand the student's background and any areas that may prove to be obstacles to success. It is also an opportunity for the guidance counselor to make a connection with both the student and the parent, which can help both to feel more comfortable and confident in their school choice, and have a future point of contact as any needs arise in the future.
